Using social media to cover events

Social Media Manager, Office of the Insurance Commissioner @WA_OIC Kara Klotz is the social media manager for Washington State Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler. She has worked in Washington state government for 10 years and implemented some or all of the social media programs for two statewide elected officials and one cabinet agency. Kara started her career in journalism, working for four Western Washington newspapers, and also worked as a book editor for two years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Pacific Lutheran University and lives in Olympia. |
Rich Roesler

He leads legislative and stakeholder outreach, as well as internal and external strategic communications. Prior to this work, Roesler was a public affairs project manager for Washington State Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler. Roesler previously covered government as a statehouse journalist for nearly a decade, and spent several years as a news bureau chief covering Pacific Rim military and foreign affairs from offices in South Korea and Japan.
